You're navigating a changing body, a shifting sense of who you are, and a life that still asks for everything, all at once.

During perimenopause and menopause, hormonal changes alter the biological support for your stress response. Ami, your amygdala, may react sooner, and your system takes longer to settle. You might find yourself thinking, "Something is off. Am I losing my mind?"

If you sense there's more going on than the physical symptoms, this is for you. We start by getting some ground under your feet. Then we go deeper, into who you are now and how you want to live this next chapter as yourself

12 guided weeks · Weekly live coaching · Live regulation sessions · Private community

Iwona Gerner, MA, LCPC, introduction

Your body needs support.

The woman you're becoming needs your attention.

It's time to give yourself both.

The expectations are exactly the same. Your conditions are not.

For twenty-five or thirty years, you carried a biological buffer that let you over-give, over-achieve, and take care of everyone else. But as that buffer thins, your body simply cannot keep doing it the same way anymore. It just can’t, and it shouldn't.

It leaves you feeling like you are disappearing under everything you carry—short-fused, irritable, teary, and exhausted. You snap bitterly because your husband’s chewing is getting on your nerves lately, or you feel your heart racing in the grocery checkout line, and you cannot take another single noise.

This friction isn’t a sign that you are losing your mind. This transition is asking you to finally take yourself and your capacity seriously on so many levels

1. The End of Performance
“For years you may have been very good at being who everyone needed you to be. In this transition, keeping that up can start to cost more than it used to. So the question comes: who am I when I’m not holding it all together for everyone?”

2. The Truth-Telling Imperative
“Things you’ve let slide for years may become harder to let slide. What you want, what you need and what you’ve been tolerating start asking to be said. Saying them, kindly and clearly, is how the people around you come to know the real you.”

3. The Identity Liberation
“You’ve been many things to many people: wife, mother, daughter, colleague, caretaker. This stage often brings a question with it: who am I underneath all of those? She’s still there, and she may have more to say than you expect.”

4. The Urgency of Time
“At this stage, many women feel time differently. ‘Someday’ turns into ‘how do I want to spend the years ahead?’ That can feel unsettling, and it can also be what finally gives you permission to choose.”

5. The Differentiation Push
“Becoming more yourself inside your relationships: staying close to the people you love while being more fully you. That’s what mature love asks for, and this transition often brings you right to its door.”

In Balance Beyond Menopause,

we work with each of these, at a pace that fits your life.

How We Work Together: The Three Pillars: Body, Identity, Life.

  • Month 1: Your Body & Nervous System
We begin by steadying your physical symptoms so you can finally catch your breath. Using the practical foundation of AmiBalance™, you will learn what to do with your physical body in loud moments to anchor your system and lower the urgency.
  • Month 2: Your Identity & Internal Patterns
We look closely at the internal patterns, roles, and beliefs you’ve carried for years. We address the old ways of coping and over-giving that are simply no longer maintainable now that your buffer is thinner, giving you room to navigate who you are becoming.
  • Month 3: Your Life & Relationships
We bring this new clarity into the life surrounding you. You will learn how to sort what is truly yours to carry and what is not, discover the internal boundaries that protect your peace and truth, and step into your next chapter as yourself, without disappearing while you love your people.

What Begins to Change

It's about having enough room inside to hear yourself, and the freedom to choose what you do with what you hear. What we're looking for is an ordinary life with less constant worry underneath it. Inside our twelve weeks, that looks like:
  • Less Rushed Evenings: You might not be dancing in the kitchen while dinner cooks (well, you might). But you'll feel less rushed, even when someone asks for the third time how much longer until dinner.
  • Grounded Nights: Some nights you'll still wake at 3:00 AM. But you'll know exactly what to do with your system, and you'll feel the difference the next morning.
  • Relational Freedom: Someone will still be disappointed in you. You'll let them have their feeling, without making it your job to fix.
  • Unapologetic Recovery: Guilt will still show up when you choose to rest or leave the to-do list undone. You'll rest anyway.
  • Steady Boundaries: When you say no, you'll still feel that familiar flinch in your body. And you'll respect your choice anyway. And boundaries are so much more than just saying no, by the way.
  • Protecting Your Space: Deciding exactly how much of other people's stress, comments, and opinions you let in.
  • Internal Sorting: Noticing an old pattern of performing or over-giving to keep the peace, and deciding right there in the moment whether you'll follow it today.

The 12-Week Experience

What you'll move through in three months
Three months. Three movements: Body, Identity, Life. Each one makes room for the next.
Each week features a short teaching and a guided practice that takes minutes, not hours. Three live Be With™ sessions to settle and practice together. And a live coaching call with me, where you bring your questions and your real life.

Month One — Body: Steadying the Ground
"What is my body trying to tell me?"
You'll explore:
  • The Biological Shift: What's happening in your body and nervous system in this transition, and why your capacity can change from one day to the next.
  • Strategic Relief: Support for your symptoms in the order that matters to you: sleep and 3:00 AM waking, heat, anxiety, fog, exhaustion, and irritation.
  • The AmiPause Sequence™: The foundational sequence and the many practical ways to use it.
  • The Hidden Tax: Uncovering hidden stress—exactly what you've been carrying without counting it.
  • The Space Practice: Catching the exact physical moment before you override your own capacity.
  • Sustainable Days: How to build recovery into your actual day, and what to do on the days you have less margin.
You'll discover:
  • Seven distinct kinds of rest—each restoring a different part of your system—and exactly which one you've been missing.
  • The raw physical relief that setting something down, even for a minute, isn't the same as giving it up entirely.
  • Your own definitive map of exactly what drains you and what restores you.
  • A supportive daily rhythm you can actually keep.
  • The Middle: Where you can stay steady with yourself, even when intense pressure or emotion is in the room.

Month Two — Identity: Sorting What's Yours
"What is truly mine?"
You'll explore:
  • The Protection Loop: How your behavioral patterns developed, and exactly what they've been trying to protect you from for decades.
  • Meeting Your Parts: Unpacking which part of you steps forward under pressure, and which voice is speaking—yours, or a part that learned to keep you safe.
  • The True Price: What each old pattern costs you right now in your sleep, energy, joy, connection, and trust in yourself.
  • The SHIFT Method: Choosing something completely different from what the old pattern tells you, staying steady through the discomfort, and letting your nervous system learn that nothing bad happens when you choose yourself.
  • Emotional Anchorage: How to be fully present with anger, irritation, and grief without letting them take over your day.
  • Honoring the Passage: Leaving real room to grieve what is changing, and honoring the woman you have been.
You'll discover:
  • That your patterns aren't the enemy. They were protecting something vulnerable, and you can care for it differently now.
  • Which old stories about who you are that you are finally ready to let go of.
  • The raw, true strength you've been holding back from claiming.
  • Who you are when youth and performance no longer define your worth.
  • What your midlife anger has actually been trying to say to you.

Month Three — Life: The Wise Woman Steps Forward
"How do I want to live now?"
You'll explore:
  • Real-World Integration: Taking your internal SHIFT into real life—in conversations, boundaries, and relationships where your true voice starts to come faster.
  • The Clear Line: Your yes, your no, and exactly where you end and others begin.
  • The Relational Ripple: Your relationships as they change, and what shifts in your family dynamic when your old ways of over-giving change.
  • Your Inner Knowing: How deep intuition feels in your body and mind, and how it differs from an old protective pattern.
  • The Whole Self: Living in the whole house of who you are, with room for every single part of you.
  • A New Foundation: Building a day-to-day life that no longer needs the old patterns of performance to hold it together.
  • The Transition Ritual: A private ceremony to safely mark this life passage.
You'll discover:
  • How to trust your own yes and no completely, even when someone you love is disappointed.
  • How to stay close to the people you love without completely losing yourself.
  • How to make decisions from your internal knowing, not from old habits.
  • What you truly know that you've never given yourself credit for.
  • What you want to make room for in the years ahead.
  • Your rightful place as the Wise Woman: in yourself, your family, and your community.

Iwona Gerner, MA, LCPC

Hi, I’m Iwona Gerner.

I'm a licensed professional counselor with more than twenty years of experience supporting women through major life transitions. I've also lived through the disorienting changes of perimenopause and menopause myself.

Women often come to me wanting to understand why sleep has become less reliable, why anxiety or irritation rises more easily, and why everyday life suddenly takes so much more effort.

Those questions matter to me. Relief matters too. But I want this work to give you more than just a way through the next hard moment. I want it to give you enough room to support your nervous system, recognize what your capacity needs now, and have more of your energy and choices available to you.

My work brings together neuroscience, somatic practice, and twenty years of clinical experience. so you can stop just trying to survive your symptoms and build a practical path that fits the body and life you have right now.

Inside Balance Beyond Menopause™, I bring these twenty years of transition framework together to hold the map for you, so you can stop trying to figure out the directions alone and simply focus on stepping into your next chapter.

Frequently Asked  Questions

Iwona Gerner, MA, LCPC, talking

Let me ask you this:

What if this transition isn't only asking you to cope?

What if it's bringing forward the parts of you that are asking to be seen and heard more clearly?

What your body has been carrying.
What no longer fits.
What you are ready to trust in yourself now.

The beliefs, roles, and patterns that brought you here deserve respect. They helped you live, adapt, care, succeed, and keep going.

But some of what once carried you may now be standing in the way of the life you want to live.

For twelve weeks, we'll give your body the support it needs, and give you the room to hear yourself, trust what you know, and shape a life that fits who you are now.

The ground is shifting because you're moving. This is a passage, and you're already in it.

What you have been carrying.

What no longer fits.
What you are ready to trust in yourself now.

The beliefs, roles, relationships, and protective patterns that brought you here deserve respect. They helped you live, adapt, care, succeed, and keep going.

But some of what once carried you may now be standing in the way of the fuller life you want to live.

This is a 12-week journey toward  not just feeling steadier and grounded but also trusting your knowing, and shaping a life that fits who you are now.

The ground is shifting because you're moving. This is a passage, and you're already in it.

The years ahead can truly be yours.
